DeeBuzz: How did you get your name and what does your sound represent?
Gramigna: "Gramigna" is a kind of "bad herb" tipical from the South of Italy (a part of the crew come from this region). It grow everywhere, you can cut it and cut it and cut it, but it will grow up again, again and again... you really caan kill Gramigna. Gramigna represent our way to think about music, play music, play shows, based on the jamaican sound system scene, born, grow & made in ITALY, looking on an International way.
DeeBuzz: How do you prepare for soundclash?
Gramigna: We prepare for soundclash just doing what we do everyday, thinking about tunes... the biggest tunes, lyrics & riddims, fi make the people gwaan mad inna di dance. Our music is fi de people.
DeeBuzz: What do you want to tell your opponents before de clash?
Gramigna: We nah have to tell too much... dem know... everybody know... it will be sticky pon dem to bloodchlat!

Gramigna Soundsystem aus Rom sind seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2000 zielstrebig auf dem Weg zur Spitze der italienischen Dancehall-Sounds.
Selecta Macro Marco und MC Brusco sind jedoch nicht nur auf die lebhafte italienisch-sprachige Szene fixiert, sondern verfolgen einen sehr internationalen Ansatz. Mit ihrem großen Arsenal an exklusiven Dubplates aller Stars und Sternchen Jamaikas haben sie auch schon in Deutschland auf sich aufmerksam machen können: so gewannen sie letztes Jahr in Rom einen Soundclash gegen Sentinel aus Stuttgart, zuletzt wurden sie im August dieses Jahres zu einem internationalen Clash nach Berlin geholt. Dort gewannen sieso souverän gegen die internationale Konkurrenz, dass viele schon munkeln, Gramigna hätte den Titel „Italy’s Number One Sound“ verdient, den seit Jahren unangefochten die Römer von One Love Hi Pawa für sich beanspruchen.
Auf ihrer Deutschlandtour wollen Gramigna nun zeigen, dass sie nicht nur clashen können, sondern auch ohne Wettbewerb die Massive bestens unterhalten.
