DeeBuzz: How did you get your name and what does your sound represent?
Freddy Krueger: When I started as a selector my name was Freddy. After killing so many Sounds while playing Big Sounds like Super Dee and Killamanjaro people used to call me Freddy Krueger - the killer.
Freddy Krueger means : Entertainment for the people and nightmare for selectors!

Biographie
Paul Francis – Freddie Krueger
Freddie Krueger, born in the parish of Portland / Jamaica. He started his musical career in the age of fifteen (15), playing on the Soundsystem City Heat. Freddie was well known in his hometown as a young selector.
Freddie enter a five Sound competition, where he won the competition. It was´nt long after that, he come to Kingston to play on the Super Dee Soundsystem. There he made a great
inpack on the dancehall and begin to travel places like England, Canada and parts of the caribbean to play music. He also play many clash competition with Sounds like Black Kat, Killamanjaro, Bass Odyssey and others. In many of these Clashes he was the champion.
Freddie love the music dearly.
In 1996 the manager from Super Dee Soundsystem decided that he would gave the dancehall a break, because of some centroversy with the soundsystems. It was in the same year that Freddie more to join the Killamanjaro family.
He was like the second top selector, Ricky Trooper the first. Freddie did not let it matter to him, as he continue to be a good selector.
In 1999 Trooper lost the World Clash in New York and soon after that he left Killamanjaro
to launch on his own Sound. Now Freddie become the leader on Killamanjaro.
In 2000 was the big test for Freddie to prove if he could manage to keep Killamanjaro on the top when he had to play in World Clash 2000. Freddie reach New York, fully loaded to fight Sounds like Pow Pow from Germany, Mighty Crown from Japan, Bass Odyssey from Jamaica, Little Rock from the US and Tony Matterhorn from Jamaica.
He showed everybody that he deserve to be the main selector of Killamanjaro Sound System and kill all other Sounds in a real wild & wicked style and bring back the Trophy to Jamaica.
That was it, from that time nobody could stop him.
Freddie was the champion and so the fans become confident that he could lead Killamanjaro Sound.
Freddie play Killamanjaro Sound for eight (8) years. During that time he won many clashes, in Jamaica and over seas. The people in Germany vote him to the No. 1 international MC &
selector.
In 2003 to 2004 Harper slowly drowing Jaro from the dance clashes and so it put a gap on Freddie as the selector. In 2004 Freddie decided to go on his own playing many places in Europe. He still goes by the name Freddie Krueger.
Freddie is doing very well in this one year. He won the Universal 45 Clash in Germany. He play in many other dances in Jamaica, so his fans would know he is on his own now.
He made a great impression on the World Clash 2005 at Pier One in Montego Bay.
In August 2005 he won the Canada Cup Clash.
Freddie will still being seen on many of these dances that he usually play, but this time as
FREDDIE KRUEGER, as even better!
Freddie is a guy he loves music over everything. Notting can stop him to play music. The most of his time he work in the studio, he have so much talent and he is allways looking for more experience. A great entertainer !
